PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the drive method of a plasma display panel by which a high image quality is displayed by performing proper selective discharge while preventing erroneous discharge of discharge cells in a pixel write process. SOLUTION: In this drive method, the rear edge part of a sustaining pulse which is to be lastly impressed in a light emission sustaining process, among respective sustaining pulses which are to be impressed in the period, is made undershot below the grounding potential.
