PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus that can photograph an image with high resolution and low power consumption. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is provided with a video signal generating section 130 that generates a video signal S22 having number of scanning lines more than number of scanning lines in compliance with the scanning system for a television broadcast system or the like on the basis of an output signal S11 from an imaging device 101, a scanning conversion means (a synchronization conversion circuit (2) 110 and a digital signal processing circuit (3) 111) that converts a video signal S22 outputted from the video signal generating section 130 into a video signal S32 with a scanning line number adapted to the scanning system for the television broadcast system or the like, and the video signal generating section 130 and the scanning conversion means respectively carry out the synchronization clock conversion processing to obtain a clock frequency required for the processing in each synchronization system.
