1,086,485. Shearing; angular bending. P. COLLY. May 7, 1965 [May 22, 1964], No. 19361/65. Headings B3E and B3W. The position of the table 2 in a press, bending press or guillotine shears can be adjusted by means of a pair of cylindrical members 6 having inclined surfaces which bear against inclined surfaces in a projection 5 on the machine frame, vertical movement of the cylindrical members 6 causing horizontal movement of the table 2. As described, a guillotine shears having a vertically reciprocating blade (not shown) has a fixed blade 14 attached to the table 2. The table has a recess 7 having arcuate ends 7a which house the cylindrical members 6. The cylindrical members 6 have flat surfaces 6a which slide over flat surfaces of part-cylindrical bearing pads 4 which are carried in bearing surfaces in a projection 5 on the machine frame. The cylindrical members 6 can be moved heightwise to adjust the position of the table 2 and the clearance between the blades by screws 8 having shoulders 8a which are held between the cylindrical members 6 and cover-plates 9. The screws pass through elongated slots in the cylindrical members 6 to allow for horizontal movement of the members 6. |
