PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating anode type X-ray tube suppressing the local temperature rise of a recoil electron trap. SOLUTION: This rotating anode type X-ray tube is provided with a cathode 11 disposed in a vacuum container; an anode target 12 emitting X-rays by the incidence of an electron beam e generated by the cathode 11, into a focus on a trajectory surface 14; and the recoil electron trap arranged between the cathode 11 and the anode target 12. In this constitution, the incident angleθe of the electron beam e to a reference axis J vertical to a reference face S abutting on the trajectory surface 14 at the focus F part of the anode target 12 is not less than a target angleθx defined by the reference face S and an X-ray extraction direction X.
