Solar cell and tool for cell production using grinding abrasive to give multireflective semiconductor surface

A solar cell has a semiconductor layer with a microgrooved upper surface having groove width, breadth and separation of not more than 10 microns. The grooves are produced by grinding using an abrasive. Independent claims are also included for a cell as above in which the semiconductor is a thin layer on a substrate, a process for forming the cell and a tool for production of the cell.
