An information resource and method and graphical user interface (GUI) (10) for accessing and analyzing data from the information resource is diclosed. The information resource is a collection of data, typically relating to an entity such as a security, corporation, or sports team, stored at or linked from one or more web sites. A GUI (10) presents an hierarchical arrangement of the data and analytical tools for their evaluation along corresponding graphical vectors. The levels of the hierarchy correspond to absolute or comparative degrees of performance. The information at each layer on the GUI (10) deals with a different parameter of the entity. For example, a user seeking security revenue data may view current revenue data (12A) at one level of the GUI (10) or historical revenue (12B) at another level, both on a single side (12) of the GUI (10); while various price-to-earnings data are presented on another side (14) of the GUI (10). |
