The invention concerns a technique for preparing aromatic organozinc compounds and a composition therefor. Said composition consists in a reagent capable of synthesizing organozinc compounds and comprises a cobalt salt, a zinc salt, a polar aprotic solvent and elementary zinc in comminuted form, the elementary zinc being in solid form, the other elements being in dissolved form in the solvent. The invention is applicable to organic synthesis.
