A number of identical fixed analysis vessels (10) are able to each receive part of a the same single sample of a liquid forming part of an industrial process. Systems (24) for the injection of chemical reagents and agitators to ensure mixing during the analysis process are provided in each vessel. The resulting chemical preparation is transferred to an analysis vessel (36) by a pneumatic system (44) which also ejects the preparation to waste. Pipes (70,72) allow the vessels to be washed and rinsed prior to the next sampling operation.
