The invention relates to a milk collection unit comprising an outlet opening, several inlet openings and a hollow chamber, which can be connected fluidically to several teat cups by means of the inlet openings via milk conduits and can be connected fluidically to a milk collection conduit. The invention is characterised in that said milk collection unit is configured in such a way that the outlet opening, during the milking process, is located at the lowest point of the milk collection unit, with an extension of the hollow chamber lying adjacent to the outlet opening, that the inlet openings are shielded from one another by means of partitions, said partitions having a recess, that the inlet openings are shielded from one another by detachable partitions and that an air intake is allocated to each inlet opening.
