<p>A liquid crystal alignment agent for the vertical alignment of a liquid crystal which comprises a polymer having specific two types of amic acid recurring unit and an imidated recurring unit. The liquid crystal alignment agent is excellent in capability of aligning a liquid crystal vertically and is reduced with respect to the time required for erasing an afterimage, and thus can be suitably used for a liquid crystal display element of MVA type.</p> |
