A method for the liquifaction and denitrogenation of natural gas, a system for carrying out said method, and gases obtained by said separation. The invention relates to a method for the liquefaction and denitrogenation of natural gas (1) containing nitrogen, wherein said natural gas (1) is cooled, liquefied and separated into a first head fraction (9), which is relatively more volatile and enriched with nitrogen, and a first foot fraction (15). The method is characterized in that the first head fraction (9) is cooled and liquefied, separated into a second head fraction (11) which is relatively more volatile and which provides gaseous nitrogen (29), and a second foot fraction (12) which is re-treated, also characterized in that the first foot fraction (15) is cooled in order to provide liquefied natural gas which is essentially devoid of nitrogen (24).
