<p>The invention pertains to a UV radiation absorbing compound wherein at least one flavonoid is covalently linked to a polypeptide. The link can be constituted by an alkylidene group attached to a nitrogen atom of the polypeptide and to an aromatic carbon atom of the flavonoid molecule. It can be produced by a Mannich type of reaction involving a primary or secondary amine and flavonoid compound such as quercetin.</p> |
