A semiconductor laser module has a polarization direction changing unit (6). Therefore the polarization directions of the laser beams of first and second lasers are changed into mutually perpendicular directions even if a polarization-dependent isolator is used. As a result, the laser beams entering a double-refraction element are propagated though the double-refraction element and reach an output section without being separated into ordinary and extraordinary rays. Consequently, the intensities of the laser beams are not decrease when the laser beams reach the double-refraction element, and thus a high-output semiconductor laser module is provided.
|
