Method for supplying water under pressure to equipment (19) for producing hollow plastic moldings comprises: (a) compressing water from a mains supply (A); (b) storing it in tanks (11, 12) containing a gas cushion; removing water discontinuously from the equipment; and (d) decompressing excess water and recirculating it to the compression stage. An Independent claim is included for apparatus for carrying out the method comprising: (a) a high-pressure pump (8) whose suction side is connected by pipes (1, 6) to the mains supply; (b) tanks containing gas cushions connected by a third pipe (9) to the pump; (c) an overflow valve (17) connected by a fourth pipe (16) to the tanks and by a fifth pipe (18) to the inlet of a heater (5). The molding equipment is positioned between the tanks and the overflow valve.
