1,008,974. Mixing apparatus. GEBR. TER BRAAK N.V. Sept. 2, 1963, No. 34616/63. Heading B1C. [Also in Division A2] In preparing sugar syrups, the sucrose, an aqueous liquid and glucose solution are mixed cold in definite proportions, the sucrose at least being measured by weight, and the sugar undissolved is maintained suspended in the mixture, and the quantity of mixture wanted for further treatment is withdrawn from the mixing vessel wherein the sugar is completely dissolved by heating. With the apparatus of the drawing, the contents of vessel 1, weighed on scale 3, are introduced by conduit 6 or 7 into mixing vessel 4 or 5. When the level a falls, for instance in vessel 4, lever regulator 14 causes, through pointer 20, opening of valve 17 in the conduit 18 for water. When the weighing vessel 1 has received the desired amount of water, valve 17 is closed, through the pointer 20, and feeding conduit 19 for sugar is opened, whereafter the conduit 19 is closed and valve 22 in a conduit 23 for glucose solution is opened. |
