<p>A sugar can harvester including a means (1) for removing standing cane stalks, means (2) to lift, disentangle and align fallen cane stalks within a throat connected in line fore and aft to central passageway, a first function vertical leading pair of rollers (3) includes cutting blades (4) at the lower end to sever the stalks at or near ground level and to lift the severed ends to position the stalks for the second function. The second function includes at least one pair of vertical rollers (5) to grip and convey, in horizontal position, the cane stalks to the third function. The third function includes vertical chopping rollers with blades to cut the stalks into desired lengths. Elevating conveyors (8) may then distribute the chopped cane after passing through cleaning devices (9). A roller (10) or other devices may be positioned between the vertical rollers to prevent cane stalk losses.</p> |
