The building cover (10) has at least one hollow cavity (16) filled to a controlled level wholly or in part and/or at times with a gas fluid mixture such as foam and which can be emptied again so that the thermal properties of the cover are changed. The gas fluid mixture can be formed in the hollow cavity by introducing a fluid to a certain level and then feeding in the gas at a certain pressure through a nozzle or porous material or the like. Dye can be added to change the lighting effect.
