PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strain-introducing apparatus suitable for continuously giving local strain to metal strip. SOLUTION: The apparatus for locally introducing strain to metal strip by pushing a roller to a continuously transported metal strip, comprises installing a strain-introducing roller and a weight for pressing the roller toward the metal strip, on the one end of a tiltable arm supported at a fulcrum in the middle part, and a weight for balance on the other end of the arm.
