PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an acrylic powder coating material, enabling to disperse a curing agent uniformly in a curing type resin and capable of forming a coated film excellent in smoothness and gloss. SOLUTION: This method for producing the acrylic powder coating material is provided by using at least (1) a curing type acrylic resin (A) obtained by polymerizing raw material monomers containing an unsaturated compound containing glycidyl group and/or methylglycidyl group and methyl methacrylate in a certain ratio, (2) a curing agent (B) capable of reacting with the glycidyl group or methylglycidyl group constituting the curing type acrylic resin (A), and (3) an alcoholic solvent (C) having 70-120 deg.C boiling point at a normal pressure, and comprises a process of kneading the curing type acrylic resin (A), the curing agent (B) and the alcoholic solvent (C) at <=130 deg.C temperature so as to dissolve at least the curing agent (B) in the alcoholic solvent (C), and then evaporating and removing the alcoholic solvent (C) under a reduced pressure continuously.
