PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester composition excellent in conserving flavor and stopping gas, excellent in thermal stability during the molding process, and causing less blemish on the dies. SOLUTION: The composition comprises a polyester having ethylene terephthalate as the main repeating unit and a polyamide containing a metaxylene group, wherein the amount of phosphorus atoms (X) in the polyamide containing a metaxylene group should satisfy formula (1): 0<X<=400 ppm. It is preferred that the compound containing phosphorus atoms be of a specified structure.
