PURPOSE: An electronic security code is added to a car theft preventing function of an automobile by interacting immobilizer with locking or unlocking of the shift lever of automatic transmission. CONSTITUTION: A immobilizer system comprises a key(10), an antenna(20), an immobilizer unit(30), an engine electronic control unit(40), a gear lock unit(50), a parking lock solenoid(60), a parking position switch(70). A transponder is embedded in the key to transmit security code by a unit radio communication. The antenna receives signals from the transponder and outputs it to the immobilizer unit. If the security code of the transponder is identical to the preset code, the immobilizer unit outputs permission signal to the engine electronic control unit and the gear lock unit. The parking lock solenoid locks or unlocks the shift lever of the automobile. The gear lock unit drives the parking lock solenoid to unlock the shift lever only when the security code is identical to the preset code. |
