<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin which is used for dispersing pigments and is suitable for water-based ink and water-based coating materials. SOLUTION: This resin for dispersing pigments comprises a copolymer of (A) a polymerizable unsaturated monomer containing at least one ionic functional group selected from tertiary amino groups, quaternary ammonium bases and sulfonic group, (B) a nonionic polymerizable unsaturated monomer having a polyoxyalkylene chain, (C) a UV light-absorbing polymerizable unsaturated monomer and/or a UV light-stable polymerizable unsaturated monomer, and (D) one or more other ethylenic unsaturated monomers. An aqueous pigment dispersion comprises the resin for dispersing the pigment, the pigment, an aqueous medium, and if necessary, a dispersion auxiliary.</p> |
