PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contrive a manufacturing system by reducing the number of steps from molding (injection molding step) to cooling, with regard to a process for manufacturing a plastic optical element and thereby, make it possible to manufacture the plastic optical element with a narrow range of refractive index distribution due to an inhibitive effect upon the generation of the refractive index distribution, at a low cost. SOLUTION: This system for manufacturing a plastic optical element comprises the molding step to inject a molten resin into and fill the interior of a cavity having at least one optical face with the molten resin, then transfer the optical face under a resin pressure generated in the cavity and unload a molded product from the cavity, the retaining step to retain the molded product at a constant temperature so that the temperature of the whole molded product is kept within at least a specified temperature range below the glass transition temperature of a resin material used and the partial cooling step to preferentially cool the optical face within the specified temperature range below at least the glass transition temperature of the resin material used. Thus the molded product is sequentially conveyed by a conveying means passing through the molding step, the retaining step and the partial cooling step. |
