PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform routing assistance by utilizing effectively information in a client terminal side database, and reduce the information quantity transmitted from a server to the client terminal. SOLUTION: The server in an information center 20 determines a route (server route) from a starting place to a destination transmitted from the client terminal of a navigation unit 10 by using information in a server side database. On the other hand, the client terminal determines a route (client route) from the starting place to the destination by using the information in the client terminal side database. The client terminal determines whether the server route agrees with the client route or not based on information between guide spots on each route having the small quantity of data, and performs the routing assistance by utilizing the information in the client terminal side database relative to an agreeing part, and by acquiring detailed information on the server route from the server and utilizing the information relative to a disagreeing part.
