PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for tensioning a web such as a plastic web supplied from a shuttle of a wrapping machine. SOLUTION: The wrapping machine has an endless track disposed around an article to be wrapped, and the shuttle supplies the web while moving on the track. The speed of supplying the web is changed with the shuttle moves around the machine, and dependent on the shape of the track and the shape of the article to be wrapped. This web tensioning device keeps constant tension in the web, and has a pair of rollers covered by elastic material. The rollers are pressed with each other to form a nip, and the elastic material is pressed into the nip. The web is supplied between the nip of the rollers.
