PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external gear pump with low noise, high volumetric efficiency, hardly causing aeration and cavitation, feeding sufficient lubrication oil to a bearing over a long time, and highly economic efficiency. SOLUTION: In the external gear pump of a pressure loading type, a first groove 8 is formed in the back of a side panel 3 and/or the inner wall surface of a case 5. The first groove 8 reaches from the range of the outer edge of the side panel 3 to a bearing 4 or the position near the bearing 4 via a low pressure area Sa until the suction pressure Pa of a suction port 7a is gradually increased to the fluid pressure Pb of a high pressure area Sb with rotation of both gears 1a, 1b and the outer edge of the side panel 3 intersects with an elastic seal 6.
