PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a submerged pump for supplying coolant to a machine tool from being clogged by chips. SOLUTION: The coolant supply apparatus 1a supplies coolant CL in a coolant tank 10 to the machine tool side by a pump 130. Chips CP in the coolant CL are separated by a chip conveyer 20, and carried out to a chip box 24. The chips CP stacked in the tank 10 are sucked from a suction port 140 of the pump into an impeller 136 to cause clogging. A chips crushing device 150 having a crushing blade 160 is provided at the tip of a motor output shaft 134, thereby crushing the chips. The periphery of the chips crushing device 150 is covered with a safety cover 180.
