1,010,419. Heat treatment furnace. DEUTSCHE EDELSTAHLWERKE A.G. Aug. 21, 1964, No. 34416. Heading F4B. In a heat-treatment furnace, gases are withdrawn through channels extending crosswise below the floor of the furnace, mixed with fresh combustion products and returned to the furnace. In a furnace having a roller way 2, Fig. 4, gases are withdrawn through cross pasages 12, fed with gases from burners 7 through a fan 9 to outlet stacks 11 below the rollers fed from a lower longitudinal passage 10. The gases may be returned through passages in the side walls of the furnaces to outlets near the furnace roof, or gases withdrawn near the furnace roof may be returned through outlets in the furnace floor. In another embodiment, Fig. 11, gases withdrawn at one side of the furnace are fed through passages 18 into which the burners 7 fire directly to return through outlets 25 at the other side of the furnace. The gases may enter the cross passage through vents in the furnace floor. The fan 9, burners 7 and circulation passages 12 may be formed in a furnace truck, Fig. 14. The floor covering the cross gas passages which supply floor heating may be of silicon carbide.
|
