BIOCOMPATIBLE MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a biocompatible material having high safety at a low cost. SOLUTION: This biocompatible material is a polymer synthesized from a monomer represented by formula (1) (wherein, R<1> is hydrogen or methyl group; R<2> is a 1-4C alkylene group; and R<3> is a 1-4C alkyl group) by an anionic polymerization method. The biocompatible material is characterized by having the ratio (Mw/Mn) of weight-average molecular weight (Mw) to number-average molecular weight (Mn) within the range of 1.0-1.5 and >=40,000 weight-average molecular weight (Mw).
