PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auger type ice making machine reduced in a load exerted from a compressing head to the cylindrical part of a cylinder. SOLUTION: The compressing head 29 is constituted of a cylindrical part 29b in which an ice compressing passage 29a for compressing ice is formed, and an arm for fixing 29c connected to the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical part 29b. A horizontal part 29d at the lower end of the arm for fixing 29c is fixed to a housing 5 by bolts 26 through the lower flange 21c of the cylinder 1. Further, the inner peripheral surface of the lower end part for the cylindrical part 29c of the compressing head 29 is sealed by an O-ring, and is constituted so as to be capable of effecting relative movement with respect to the cylinder 21 in accordance with the load of the compressing head 29, which is generated by ice pushed up by the rotation of an auger 23.
