PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To well control the formation of waves by performing detailed wave making operation in real time. SOLUTION: The wave making apparatus is equipped with a parallel processor 12 enabled in parallel operation to perform wave making operation on the basis of a wave making condition signal to output an operation result, a system controller 13 receiving the operation result and outputting a plurality of wave making signals on the basis of the operation result, a plurality of motion controllers 13-1-14-7, and a plurality of wave making drive units 24-1 to 24-101 provided in an experiment water tank 10. Each of a plurality of the motion controllers 14-1 to 14-7 outputs a plurality of wave making control signals on the basis of the corresponding wave making signal among a plurality of the wave making control signals, each of a plurality of the wave making drive units 24-1 to 24-101 is operated on the basis of the corresponding wave making control signal among a plurality of the wave making control signals, and a plurality of the wave making drive units 24-1 to 24-101 drive the wave making apparatus for making waves in the experiment water tank 10.
