PURPOSE: A process of preparing a cosmetic remarkably reinforced in antiinflammatory function and skin protecting function for protection of the skin from skin diseases such as acne, eczema or the like using leaves and stems of Saururus chinensis is provided. Whereby, the extract is formulated into a skin lotion, emulsion, cream, essence, pack or the like. CONSTITUTION: Leaves and stems of Saururus chinensis are sufficiently washed three times to remove foreign material, mixed with water in a weight of ratio of 1:5, extracted for 1hr or more and then cooled. Thereafter, the extract is mixed with conventional cosmetic material to produce a cosmetic having skin protection action.
