<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce unnatural feeling generated in an occupant when performing a speed increase/reduction control to properly secure an inter-vehicle distance with a front object, regarding an inter-vehicle distance control device. SOLUTION: Target deceleration G is set based on an inter-vehicle distance of a self vehicle and a preceding vehicle and relative speed detected by using a laser radar sensor. A speed reduction control for driving a brake actuator is executed to realize target G0 set by releasing the operation of an accelerator pedal. When large target deceleration beyond the target deceleration G0 is calculated in a process in which the vehicle transfers to a stationary state for properly maintaining the inter-vehicle distance with the preceding vehicle after the actual deceleration of the vehicle reaches the target deceleration G0 , a value A.G0 which does not exceed the target deceleration G0 is set as target deceleration G. The speed reduction control for driving the brake actuator is executed to realize the set target deceleration A.G0 .</p> |
