PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chlorine dioxide composition capable of freely controlling the amount of released chlorine dioxide gas. SOLUTION: This chlorine dioxide gas composition comprises a baked aggregate, water and dissolved chlorine dioxide. A gel-like chlorine dioxide composition is preferably obtained by further including a gelling material such as a water absorbent polymer or a starch. The baked aggregate can thus be compounded to raise the holding ability of the chlorine dioxide gas. A necessary and sufficient amount of the chlorine dioxide gas can readily be emitted at a required time by heating or blowing a wind. Further, antimicrobial effects of the emitted gas can be raised.
