PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering angle sensor for detecting the rotating angle of a handle capable of detecting the absolute angle of handle rotating quantity without requiring power supply in the stop of an engine. SOLUTION: In this steering angle sensor, above a stator 11 having two or more fixed coils 12A-12F radially formed on the upper surface, a rotator 13 having rotating coils 14A and 14B opposite to the fixed coils with a prescribed space formed on the lower surface is arranged, and a control means 19 detects the rotating angle of the rotator 13 to the stator 11 according to the electromagnetically induced voltage value of each fixed coil changed according to the opposed area between both the coils. According to such a structure, the steering angle sensor can detect the absolute angle of handle rotating quantity without requiring power supply in the stop of the engine.
