PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing device for a folding type roof for a vehicle capable of reducing cost and preventing upsizing of a driving mechanism with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: The driving mechanism 30 is slightly operated, a cover member 15 further fluctuates from a closed position to an excessively closed position, and a difference in level is generated between a vehicle body 12 and the cover member 15 till a second member 42 of the driving mechanism 30 stops an operation of a prescribed direction after the cover member 15 becomes the closed position. By operating the second member 42 of the driving mechanism 30 in an opposite direction of the one prescribed direction, a pin member 44 of the second member 42 is separated from one of both end edges of an oblong hole 43 of a first member 41, the cover member 15 is allowed to fluctuate in the direction of an open position, and the cover member 15 is returned from the excessively closed position to the closed position by restoring force of a clogging member WS to eliminate the difference in level generated between the vehicle body 12 and the cover member 15.
