PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a plurality of target substances at the same time. SOLUTION: A probe substance 2 having selective coupling properties with respect to a specific target substance is allowed to adhere to the surface on one side of the portion set to the light waveguide layer of a microarray chip substrate 1, of which at least the portion is set to the light waveguide layer. Further, the target substance 3 is selectively coupled with the probe substance 2. Exciting light 4a is allowed to be incident on the light waveguide layer of the microarray chip substrate 1 from a light source 4. Then, fluorescence is measured by evanescent wave excitation generated from a light waveguide interface.
