PURPOSE: A system for retrieving and providing information using a voice recognition technique is provided to retrieve desired information as a voice using the voice recognition technique, a voice synthesis technique, a talker recognition technique, and authentication technique, extract information corresponding to an inputted voice, retrieve corresponding information, convert corresponding information into a voice, and offer the voice. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of user telephones(211,230-233) connect to a communication network. If an information providing server connects to one user telephone among a plurality of user telephones(211,230-233), the information providing server processes the authentication of a voice of a user using authentication data, recognizes voice information inputted by the user, retrieves information, converts retrieved information into a voice signal, and provides the voice signal to the user. The information providing server has a voice recognition processing device(215) for recognizing the voice signal inputted from the user and converting the recognized voice signal into character data, and a voice synthesis processing device(214) for converting the character data into a voice signal. The information providing server has talker recognition/authentication processing devices(216,217) for processing the authentication of the user using the voice of the user. |
