PURPOSE: Provided is a stent to be implanted in a body duct which prevents degradation and degeneration of a physiologically active substance and is capable of maintaining the stable state while sustainedly releasing the physiological active substance. CONSTITUTION: The stent(1) includes a cylindrical stent main body extending in axial direction and having an opening on each end of the axially extending stent main body and a sustained release coating formed on the surface of the stent main body. A biologically and physiologically active substance is released from the release coating. The sustained release coating comprises a layer(3) of the biologically and physiologically active substance formed on the surface of the stent main body, and a polymer layer(4) formed on the biologically and physiologically active substance layer to cover the biologically and physiologically active substance layer.
