<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disc brake capable of accurately detecting braking torque and securing favorable braking performance. SOLUTION: A contact sensor 40 contacting a carrier 6 and detecting its deformation amount is provided on an arm bridge part 37 of an arm 35 fixed to a knuckle 5. The carrier 6 is pushed against inner side and outer side brake pads 3 and 4 during braking and it is deformed in response to the braking torque, the deformation amount of the carrier 6 is detected by the contact sensor 40, and the braking torque can be determined on the basis of the detected deformation amount. Consequently, detection accuracy of the braking torque can be improved in comparison with estimation of the braking torque based upon frictional coefficient of the brake pads, frictional coefficient of a road surface or the like. The contact sensor 40 can detect the deformation amount of the carrier 6 without engagement with a caliper 7, attaching rigidity of the caliper is not lowered, and favorable braking performance can be secured.</p> |
