PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of processing a surface of a brake rotor so as to improve durability of the brake rotor. SOLUTION: The method has a process of positioning the brake rotor 12 adjacently to a laser beam source 32 generating a laser beam 40, a process of emitting the laser beam on the surface 20 of the brake rotor, a process of directing process gas toward the surface of the rotor adjacently to the laser beam, a process of rotating the rotor at a predetermined rotational speed, and a process of repeating the processes until the whole surface of the rotor is processed by the laser beam.
