PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recorder in which a recording head can be replaced easily. SOLUTION: The ink jet recorder comprises a belt entrained about a drive pulley and a driven pulley while being secured with a carriage and being turned around in the forward and reverse directions by a motor 5 for driving the drive pulley, an ink tank 16 for supplying ink to a recording head, a flexible flat cable 10 being bent from the body of the recorder and fixed to the recording head and delivering a print signal to the recording head while changing the bending position as the carriage moves, and a carriage frame 19 incorporating the carriage, the drive pulley, the driven pulley, the drive motor 5, the belt, the recording head, the ink tank 16 and the flat cable 10 as a unit. |
