PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable X-ray planar imaging device and its handling method in which burden on a patient is minimized, while enhancing the handling performance, at the time of inserting and setting the X-ray planar imaging device between the patient and a bed by reducing movement of the patient, a method for displaying information and a method for transmitting a signal. SOLUTION: The portable X-ray planar imaging device incorporates an X-ray imaging device frame 2 comprising a photoelectric conversion board arranged with a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements two-dimensionally, and an electric circuit board for processing the output signal from the photoelectric conversion board wherein a handle 3 for moving or setting the device is provided, respectively, on the opposite circumferential walls of the X-ray imaging device frame 2.
