PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially advantageously producing a lower alkene at a heightened reaction rate by using a catalyst having excellent catalytic activity in the method for producing the lower alkene by bringing a lower alkane into contact with the catalyst. SOLUTION: A ZSM-5 zeolite is used as a catalyst carrier in the method for producing the lower alkene by dehydrogenating the lower alkane in the presence of the catalyst.
