PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press forming die and a press forming method using the press forming die capable of improving formability at he time of forming, and capable of enhancing productivity since the press forming die has a simple construction. SOLUTION: The press forming die having a punch and die is characterized in that a part of the punch and/or die which contacts or contact a metal plate to be formed or all parts of the punch and/or die are made of porous metal and at the same time, loading arms through which lubricating oil can be press- charged to a non-contact surface between the porous metal and the metal plate are provided and the contact surface between the porous metal and the metal plate is so configured as to be forcibly lubricated. The press forming method is also characterized in that the metal plate is press-formed using the press forming die, by making lubricating oil pressure inside the loading arms at least higher than the atmospheric pressure.
