PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner for which the number of components and operation man-hour are largely reduced, which has a constitution enabling fixation without impairing disposition precision also after lens mounting, from which only a lens can easily be removed and replaced, and which has an excellent recycling characteristic. SOLUTION: The optical scanner is provided with a polygon scanner 2 which carries out the polarization scanning of a laser beam in a sealed housing 1. The optical scanner makes a laser beam with a predetermined beam spot diameter and images it on a photoreceptor 8 by using a single or multiple long lenses 3. Positioning projections 3-1 are formed at both ends of the long lens, respectively. Mounting holes 6-2 into which the positioning projections are fitted are formed on a lens adapter plate on which the long lens is placed. A spring member 7 to energize the long lens toward the lens adapter plate is interposed between a cover members and the long lens provided on a housing upper part.
