摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method in which a maximum value required for the automatic processing operation of data used to find Young's modulus is judged, to provide an apparatus using the method and to provide a recording medium in which the method is stored as a program. SOLUTION: The method is a method in which the resonance frequency of a sheet of paper is found and in which Young's modulus of the sheet of paper is found by a vibration reed method by using the resonance frequency. A frequency region is set on the horizontal axis, a plurality of first closed sections in which the frequency region is divided into first prescribed lengths are set on the horizontal axis, a graph in which the mean value of transfer functions in the first closed sections is set on the vertical axis is created, the frequency region is then divided into second closed sections having other lengths longer than the first definite lengths, maximum values in the graph in the second closed sections are found, and a point in which an inclination connecting the adjacent maximum values is changed from the positive to the negative or zero is judged to be one of maximum points in the graph as a whole.
