PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make unevenness in the density of an image sufficiently small to the extent of being negligible by sufficiently suppressing variation of ejection speed and the difference of ejection volume among nozzles due to difference of print pattern. SOLUTION: In an ink jet head 4, compliance ratio R, i.e., 'compliance of a piezoelectric member composing the sidewall between ink chambers/compliance of ink', is set so that the repeating pulse period 'Tf (unit: AL3)' of applying voltage satisfies following relation; 2.7R<2> -2.8R+3.9<Tf<3.0R<2> -3.2R+4.1.
