PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a faces joining device and a faces joining method capable of improving faces joining accuracy and expanding types of available components. SOLUTION: The faces joining device, for making one component of a face joining object confront the other component of a face joining object and joining the faces for face joining of the both components, is provided with a lifting and lowering holding mechanism 2 for holding the one component of a face joining object in a vertically movable way, a gimbal mechanism 7 for holding the other component of a face joining object around a turning center 8 in a freely turnable way, a level adjustment holder 13 for holding the other component of a face joining object so as to confront the one component of a face joining object, and a vertical movement guide mechanism 14 for moving the other component of a face joining object held by the level adjustment holder vertically so that the height level of the face for face joining of the other component of a face joining object can meet the turning center of the gimbal mechanism in accordance with the length of the other component of a face joining object.
