PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent product having a structure where stretchable members set inside the both edge parts of a main body can be fixed on the inner part of the main body, and to provide a method for producing the absorbent product. SOLUTION: This absorbent product is obtained by laminating an absorbent body 24, a waterproof material 11 set outside the absorbent product, and a liquid-permeable surface material 13 and banding them to each other to form a main body, and has stretchable members 17 and 17 each with a flat cross section respectively arranged at the both edge parts of the main body 18, and a folded-back part 13b where the side edge parts of the surface material are folded to a direction opposite to the user's skin in such a fashion as to enclose the stretchable member; wherein the surface of the stretchable member is thoroughly fixed on the surface material 13 with an adhesive at the inside of the folded-back part, and further, the adhesives applied to the surface material are joined with each other at the inside area of the stretchable member.
